A Class 12 student allegedly died by suicide at a society in Noida's Sector 168 on Saturday. The suicide angle came into focus after the student's school bag was found on the roof of the multi-storey building. The 17-year-old was a student of a school located in Delhi. Preliminary investigation points to exam-related stress, though police have not found any suicide note.

According to the police, the student's mobile phone is being analysed to reconstruct events and collect digital evidence.

The student's family lives on the 10th floor of the society. On Saturday, after returning from his practical examination, he reportedly went to another tower instead of going home. He is believed to have jumped from the top of the building, police said. His mother reached the spot, and he was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, where he was declared dead.

The student's father, who lives in Germany, reached Noida on Sunday.

His father is a businessman and his mother a homemaker. The teenager's elder sister is studying medicine. Police said the student was bright but had been worried about something for some time. They are also investigating whom he last spoke to on the phone.

Student Suicide in November 2025 Also Linked to Exam Stress

In November 2025, a similar incident was reported when a 17-year-old girl preparing for the JEE Main allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the 10th floor of Ador Society in Sector 88, Greater Faridabad. Preliminary findings had suggested stress related to competitive examinations, while police said no suicide note was recovered.
