BriBooks, a leading creative writing platform for children, recently organised the world's largest book writing competition for school students, the National Young Authors Fair. The literary event provided young authors with an opportunity to publish their first book and experience entrepreneurship. The National Young Authors Fair saw the participation of more than 1 lakh students from over 3,000 schools across the country.
The Fair is the brainchild of BriBooks and the Education World. Students exhibited their literary skills at the fair by writing books which were later published. The Ministry of Education even issued an ISBN number for the books. Once the books were printed and published, their young authors promoted them through social media and at school meetings and public readings. Some students managed to sell more than 1000 books in 30 days.
Talking about the fair, BriBooks founder Ami Dror said,
We are thrilled to have organised the National Young Authors Fair and given an opportunity to young authors to publish their first book. We hope that this experience has provided them with a lifelong love for reading, writing, and entrepreneurship.
Bhavin Shah, CEO of Education World, appreciated students' work and said that writing has “the power to transform lives and communities”.
Many students emerged as best-selling authors at the fair. An award ceremony was also held on March 25 to felicitate jury award winners and best-selling authors. The jury included Pulitzer Prize winner journalist Dele Olojede, best-selling author and columnist Saul Singer, and Edesia Nutrition founder & CEO Navyn Salem.
Impressed by the talent and creativity showcased by the participants, Saul Singer said, “It is inspiring to see the next generation of writers and entrepreneurs take charge and showcase their work. I wish these budding writers all the luck and hope to hear more of their stories in the coming years.”
