Yamaha India has announced the revised prices of two of its middle-weight motorcycles, R3 and MT-03, post GST reforms. The reduction in the GST rates for motorcycles with a capacity lower than 350 cc has worked in favour of the naked and the supersport motorcycle. Specifically, it has resulted in a reduction of up to Rs 20,000. It is to be noted that these changes come days after the brand announced the price cut of up to Rs 17,581 for its entry-level models sold in the country.

Diving into the details, the Yamaha R3 now comes at a starting price of Rs 3.39 lakh (ex-showroom), which is a reduction of around Rs 20,000 when compared to the earlier price of Rs 3.60 lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the MT-03 was earlier sold at Rs 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom); with the changes in place, it has a price tag of Rs 3.29 lakh (ex-showroom).

Previously, Yamaha Motor India dropped the prices of these motorcycles by one lakh rupees due to a modest market response. This adjustment provided some relief to potential buyers. Now, the recent GST reduction by the government on sub-350cc bikes has brought additional positive news for those considering either the R3 or MT-03.

The only thing that might make the prospective consumers skeptical about the R3 and the MT-03 is the unavailability of the latest iterations, which are already on sale in some international markets. There is no word on their launch in the Indian market.

Following the GST revisions, the Yamaha R15 is priced between Rs 1,94,439 and Rs 2,12,020, reflecting a decrease of Rs 17,581. The MT15 benefits from a reduction of Rs 14,964, bringing its cost down to Rs 1,65,536. The FZ series, encompassing the FZ-S Fi Hybrid and FZ-X Hybrid, now has prices of Rs 1,33,159 and Rs 1,37,560, respectively, following reductions of Rs 12,031 and Rs 12,430.

In the scooter category, the Aerox 155 Version S is now available for Rs 1,41,137, which is Rs 12,753 less. The RayZR's price has dropped to Rs 86,001 after a reduction of Rs 7,759, while the Fascino can now be purchased for Rs 94,281, having seen a cut of Rs 8,509.
