Volkswagen has launched the Tayron R-Line for the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 46.99 Lakh (ex-showroom). Following the reveal, the brand began pre-bookings for the model. With this launch, the automaker enters the premium three-row SUV segment. Customers who wish to get the flagship seven-seater can pay a token amount of Rs 51,000 at authorized dealerships or through Volkswagen's online platforms for booking.
Volkswagen Tayron R-Line: Powertrain
The Tayron R-Line will be manufactured locally in India. Built on the MQB EVO platform, which it shares with the Tiguan R-Line, this three-row vehicle is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine producing 204 hp and 320 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DSG and a 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system. According to Volkswagen, the SUV can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 224 km/h.

Volkswagen Tayron R-Line: Design
Consistent with its market positioning, the Tayron R-Line is being introduced as a fully loaded model with features that many consider to be best in class. Its exterior showcases IQ. Light HD Matrix headlamps, R-Line design specifics, 19-inch alloy wheels, and illuminated logos at the front and back. Volkswagen claims that the SUV preserves conventional SUV proportions while radiating a premium German design flair.

The interior prioritizes spaciousness and comfort, offering a roomy layout, a panoramic sunroof, and ergonomically designed front seats. The dashboard features a 15-inch infotainment display, a 10.25-inch digital cockpit, and an augmented reality head-up display. The front seats provide 12-way electric adjustments with memory, ventilation, a massage feature, and lumbar support, while the ambient lighting system includes 30 color options, incorporating an illuminated R insert on the dashboard.

Regarding safety, the Tayron R-Line comes equipped with nine airbags, electronic stability control, hill ascent and descent assist, as well as various driving modes available through driver profile selection. Furthermore, it includes Level 2 ADAS with 14 different assistance features. Other significant highlights consist of a 3-zone climate control system, a gesture-controlled tailgate, a 700-watt Harman Kardon audio system, dual high-power USB-C ports, and the ability for wireless charging.
