Toyota has officially unveiled the Land Cruiser FJ, nicknamed the 'Baby Land Cruiser'. The new model is slated for a Japan launch around mid-2026 and will be showcased at the Japan Mobility Show on 30th October 2025. While its India debut is being considered, no timeline has been confirmed yet. Meanwhile, the Toyota Fortuner continues to perform strongly in the Indian market. Toyota Land Cruiser FJ houses a 2.7-liter, four-cylinder, petrol engine, connected to a six-speed automatic gearbox. It is also enabled with 4x4 transmission for tackling the off-road obstacles. The power mill is capable of delivering a peak power and torque output of around 160 hp and 245 Nm, respectively. This power mill has been borrowed from the Fortuner itself.

Meanwhile, the Toyota Fortuner gets two powertrain options, including the 2.7-liter petrol engine and a 2.8-liter diesel engine, paired to a 2WD and a 4WD system (options). It delivers a peak power and torque output of 201 hp and 500 Nm, respectively. It also gets a 2.8-liter, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine now paired with a 48-Volt system.

The Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is 4,574 mm long, 1,854 mm wide, and 1,960 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,580 mm.
On the other hand, the Toyota Fortuner proves a dominant stance, measuring 4,795 mm in length, 1855 mm wide, standing tall at 1835 mm, and a wheelbase of 2745 mm.

While the full interior details of the 'Baby Land Cruiser' will be revealed at launch, current information suggests the Land Cruiser FJ will feature a multi-layered dashboard, a 12.5-inch floating infotainment screen, a bold steering wheel, and an increased number of physical buttons for key functions.

The Toyota Fortuner boasts a large TFT multi-information display, ventilated front seats with perforation. It also gets audio, MID, voice recognition switches on the steering wheel, 2nd Row: 60:40 split fold, slide, recline, and one-touch tumble function, and more.

Toyota Land Cruiser FJ Vs Fortuner: Price
The prices of the Land Cruiser FJ have not been announced yet. Also, the 'Baby Land Cruiser' will be first launched in Japan, followed by other markets, suggesting it will take a bit longer for its arrival in India.
The Toyota Fortuner is available in India at a starting price of Rs 33.64 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 48.85 lakh (ex-showroom).
