The partnership between Suzuki and Toyota has resulted in several rebadged products for both the Indian and global markets. In India, this collaboration has led to multiple successful products, such as the Baleno and Glanza, the Grand Vitara and Hyryder, and the Innova Hycross and Invicto. On a global scale, we see products like the Toyota RAV4, which is known as the Suzuki Across in the European market. Interestingly, Suzuki has now used the name "Across" for a different model that is not related to Toyota.

The SUV that we know as Maruti Suzuki Victoris in India has been launched in Seychelles (a country in East Africa) as Suzuki Across. In terms of appearance, the brand has made no changes to the SUV except for changing the branding on the tailgate. However, the cabin sees a major difference with a different positioning of the steering wheel. This is because it is a left-hand drive version.

Now, coming to the only common thread that ties Suzuki Across a.k.a. Victoris to Toyota is the use of the Heartect platform. This is the same platform that underpins the Grand Vitara and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. It is to be noted that all of these models are on sale in the Indian market, with Victoris being the latest. It was launched in the country in September 2025 at a starting price of Rs 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris is available in India with three different engine choices. It features a 103 hp 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine, a 116hp 1.5-litre strong hybrid, and an 89hp 1.5-litre petrol-CNG option. Transmission options consist of a 5-speed manual for the CNG variant, an e-CVT for the strong hybrid, and either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic for the mild hybrid. The top-tier mild-hybrid automatic variants are also equipped with an all-wheel-drive system.

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris competes with models like Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, and others in India. Besides Seychelles, the SUV will be exported to multiple other countries across the globe. Earlier, the brand had confirmed that the model would be exported to over 100 countries and regions around the world.
