Skoda India is planning on launching the Kushaq facelift next week. This marks the first significant update for the compact SUV since its 2021 launch as the inaugural model under the Skoda Volkswagen Group's India 2.0 initiative. Facing stiff competition from fresh rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos in the booming C-segment, the refreshed Kushaq aims to reclaim the spotlight with targeted upgrades.
The Czech brand recently dropped a teaser on social media, cloaking the SUV in green camouflage. While styling tweaks appear subtle, spy shots hint at major changes to keep the iconic design intact. Up front, expect revised headlamps and bumpers flanking a larger Butterfly grille, paired with sleeker LED daytime running lamps (DRLs). At the rear, slimmer taillamps may connect, complemented by new 17-inch matte black alloy wheels for a sportier stance.

On the inside, the revisions might be aimed at improving the Kushaq's appeal against segment newcomers. Highlights include a panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster, and a bigger touchscreen infotainment system with sharper graphics.

Mechanically, the 1.5-litre TSI petrol variants could gain rear disc brakes for sharper handling. Top-spec models across 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre engines might introduce Level 2 ADAS features like adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist. However, chances are the 1.5-litre TSI engine will only be available with DSG and might miss out on the six-speed manual transmission.

The 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol is tuned to put out 115 hp of power and 178 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the larger 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI put out 150 hp of power and 250 Nm of torque at the peak of its performance.
These updates position the Kushaq to challenge the Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra, and Maruti Grand Vitara more aggressively. Pricing is expected to start around Rs 11.5 lakh (ex-showroom), with deliveries kicking off soon after launch.
