- Royal Enfield launches Bullet 650, reviving a historic model with modern features
- Bullet 650 uses a 648 cc parallel-twin engine delivering 47 hp and 52.3 Nm torque
- Design includes retro elements such as hand-painted pinstripes and metal badging
Royal Enfield has expanded the use of the 650 cc platform and added its oldest name to the range with the Bullet 650. The name has been around since 1932 and is among the longest-running models in the Indian motorcycle market. With this launch, it is also the most powerful machine to bear the name and the seventh model in the brand's 650 cc range. Despite using the same platform, it stands apart because of its unique styling that presents a strong case for retro lovers.
A Legacy Name With Modern Performance
The Royal Enfield Bullet 650 blends historical significance with contemporary mechanics. Powered by a 648 cc air/oil-cooled parallel-twin engine, it produces 47 hp at 7,250 rpm and 52.3 Nm at 5,650 rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox and slip-and-assist clutch. This unit has already proven itself across Royal Enfield's 650 range, offering predictable power delivery and refinement suited for everyday riding.

Rooted, Distinct Styling
While the Bullet 650 shares its overall silhouette with the Classic 650, Royal Enfield has introduced design elements that give it a more understated retro appeal. The hand-painted pinstripes on the fuel tank and metal badging reinforce its heritage character, while the boxier rear fender sets it apart visually from the Classic's rounded design.
Neutral Ergonomics
The Bullet 650 sets itself apart from the whole range with the seating and rider ergonomics. The Bullet uses a single-piece stepped seat, which offers a more natural seating posture and better support for both rider and pillion. Additionally, the handlebar positioning seems more neutral, allowing for a relaxed riding stance that aligns well with the motorcycle's touring-friendly character.

Proven Hardware
Underneath its retro styling, the Bullet 650 uses the same chassis and suspension setup as the Classic 650. It features a Showa telescopic front fork with 120 mm of travel and twin rear shock absorbers offering 90 mm of travel. The motorcycle rides on 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels with tube-type tyres, maintaining its traditional construction.
Familiar Features
The feature set on the Bullet 650 remains consistent with other models in the 650 lineup. It includes a digital-analog instrument cluster, Tripper navigation pod for turn-by-turn directions, USB charging, and dual-channel ABS. These features add everyday usability without interfering with the motorcycle's retro identity.
With all of this. The Royal Enfield Bullet 650 is offered in a single variant priced at Rs 3.65 lakh (ex-showroom), available in Canon Black and Battleship Blue colour options. It is the same starting price as the Classic 650.
