Nissan India has revealed its expansion plan for the Indian market with a product offensive aimed at expanding its presence in multiple segments. The process starts with the debut of its B-Segment MPV, Gravite, in January 2026. This will be closely followed by the unveiling of the mid-size SUV Tekton in February 2026. Carrying the momentum forward to 2027, the brand plans to launch a seven-seater SUV in the country.
Initiating the plan, the brand revealed a few design details of the Tekton, giving a hint at the design of the model. To begin with, the vehicle gets a squared off design which is synonymous with the brand's modern design language. The lighting elements seem to offer a contemporary appeal, complemented by a muscular design for the bonnet, giving it a muscular look. With all of it, the SUV gets a wide grille covering the width of the vehicle.

The Nissan Tekton is expected to launch in India as a companion model to the new generation Renault Duster, which is set to debut in January 2026. This forthcoming Nissan SUV is anticipated to have a shared powertrain and feature set with the new generation Renault Duster. The Tekton will be produced and shipped from the Nissan-Renault manufacturing plant in Chennai for both right-hand drive and left-hand drive markets, establishing India as the manufacturing hub.
Once launched, the Nissan Tekton will represent the brand in a highly competitive segment, making it a crucial product for the automaker's resurgence. Specifically, the vehicle will compete in the mid-size SUV segment, which has some of the best-selling of the Indian market like the Hyundai Creta. The list of rivals also includes Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, and others. To hold its ground, Tekton will need a highly competitive price within the vicinity of Rs 11 lakh.

Following a similar pattern will be the Gravite MPV. However, it will have minimal competition, considering that it will compete against its own sibling, the Renault Triber. It is to be noted that the updated Triber was recently launched in the country with significant revisions in terms of design, interior, and features.
