Nissan India has postponed the launch of its new seven-seater MPV for the Indian market. The vehicle was originally supposed to be introduced to the market on January 21. However, the event has now been moved, and the new dates are expected to be announced soon. The Renault Triber rival is a crucial product for the automaker as it is the first one to be launched as part of the automaker's plan to expand its presence in the country.

Nissan Gravite was confirmed for launch in India by the brand in December 2025. Based on the CMF-A+ platform of the brand, it will be the first new product of the automaker in a new segment. It will be followed by the introduction of the Tekton SUV, which has been teased on multiple occasions. Finally, the automaker plans on ending 2026 with the launch of a seven-seater SUV. Presently, the automaker only has the Magnite representing it in the mass market.

Details about the interior have not yet been disclosed, but the MPV may share some features with the Triber model. The Gravite is expected to offer a three-row seating arrangement, allowing for flexible configurations of 5, 6, or 7 seats. The list of anticipated features includes a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charging pad, cool storage in the center console, and second-row seats that can slide and recline.

Under the hood, the upcoming Nissan Gravite MPV is expected to have a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that delivers 72 hp and 96 Nm of torque. Customers can expect options for either a 5-speed manual or an AMT transmission, similar to the Triber model. While Nissan is likely to tune the engine and transmission for better drivability, the core mechanical setup is expected to remain unchanged.
