KTM has taken the wraps off the 2027 Freeride E, giving its electric off-road motorcycle a meaningful upgrade in performance, usability, and riding range. The Freeride nameplate has been part of KTM's global portfolio for over a decade, and this latest version reflects the brand's growing expertise in electric two-wheelers. Here are the top highlights of the KTM Freeride E off-roader.
More Power
The 2027 Freeride E now uses a waterproof and dustproof electric motor that produces 19.2kW (25.5 bhp) and 37Nm of torque. KTM claims a top speed of 95kph, making it ideal for trail and enduro riding. Riders also get three ride modes - Eco, Normal and Sport - along with three regenerative braking levels, helping adapt performance to different terrains.
Swappable Battery
A major update comes in the form of a 5.5kWh swappable lithium-ion battery pack. KTM says it can provide 2 to 3 hours of off-road riding, depending on riding style and terrain. The battery is also rated for over 1,000 charging cycles before dropping to 80 percent efficiency, making it practical for long-term use.
Faster Charging
Charging convenience has improved as well. With the standard 660W charger, the battery takes around 8 hours for a full charge. The optional 3.3kW fast charger cuts this time to just 1.5 hours, reducing downtime significantly. KTM also says the 29kg battery pack can be removed in under 10 minutes if needed.

Lightweight Build
The Freeride E weighs just 112kg, which should make it easier to manage on technical trails. It is built on a chrome-moly steel frame with an aluminium and reinforced nylon subframe. The bike also gets WP adjustable suspension, 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, and Michelin Enduro Medium tyres.
Will It Launch In India?
While KTM has confirmed global availability from later this month, an India launch appears unlikely for now. Despite the brand's strong presence here, KTM has yet to officially introduce its electric motorcycle lineup in the country.
However, with Bajaj-backed KTM's growing EV ambitions, the Freeride E could still become an interesting niche product for India's emerging electric off-road scene in the future.
