New Bajaj Chetak: Design

The new Bajaj Chetak is expected to bring some major revisions in design. To begin with, it will likely get a new design for the LED taillight and with Chetak lettering embedded in it. Additionally, the design of the front end is expected to be different, with the indicators moved from the apron to the handlebar section. Chances are these changes will be complemented by new colours.

New Bajaj Chetak: Powertrain

One of the primary changes on the test scooter is that it seems to include a hub-mounted motor. The current Chetak utilizes a swingarm-mounted motor. A hub motor is engineered to be integrated directly into the wheel hub for direct drive functionality. Although it is yet unclear what battery pack sizes will be offered, the Chetak presently comes with a 3 kWh or a 3.5 kWh pack.

Given that the test scooter that was seen appears to lack a TFT screen and keyless ignition, this might represent a lower- or mid-spec variant. More information will follow as soon as we have a proper view of this new scooter.

New Bajaj Chetak: Rivals

Once launched, the new Bajaj Chetak is expected to be more affordable compared to the current version. In a market full of competition, the model will hold its ground against rivals like TVS iQube, Hero Vida VX2, Ola S1 X, Ather Rizta, and others.
