JSW MG Motor India on Thursday said all its vehicles now feature PM 2.5 air filters or purifiers, designed to help improve in-cabin air quality. The initiative follows growing concerns about rising air pollution during the festive season due to firecrackers, stubble burning, and other factors. The company's entire range, including the Astor, Gloster, Windsor, Comet, and ZS EV, is now fitted with these filtration systems.

The introduction of air filtration across MG's entire lineup is a first for the brand. Until now, only the Hector featured a dedicated air purifier with an AQI display. This new standard availability ensures that customers at all price points in the MG range can utilize this technology without the need to choose specific variants.

The air purifier in the Hector is equipped with an activated carbon filter that eliminates pollutants, allergens, and unpleasant smells. The integrated AQI display offers real-time information about the air quality inside the cabin, providing passengers with insight into the filtration process.

PM 2.5 refers to particulate matter that is less than 2.5 microns in diameter, which are tiny particles that can be inhaled and potentially lead to health problems. MG's PM 2.5 filters can capture 95 to 99 percent of these particles, which include dust, smoke, soot, pollen, and bacteria. In the Hector, the PM 2.5 air purifier employs an activated carbon filter to counteract odors and eliminate allergens.

The move aligns with how other manufacturers have positioned air filtration across their ranges. The list includes automakers like Hyundai, Kia, Mahindra, and Tata offering the feature on models like Venue, Creta, XUV700, Safari, and others on sale in the country.
