Maruti Suzuki has undoubtedly been the leading name in the Indian automotive industry. The brand achieved impressive results in July 2025 sales, with seven cars ranking among the top 10 best-selling cars of the month. Also, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire secured the first spot, pushing the Hyundai Creta to second. Now, according to the reports, Maruti Suzuki is planning to introduce a new Creta rival in the market.
While previous reports suggested that the upcoming Maruti SUV would be called Escudo, there are chances that the brand might introduce other names for the SUV in the international market.

Also, the Maruti Suzuki SUV is expected to feature a 1.5-liter petrol engine delivering 103 hp and 139 Nm of torque, a CNG option providing 87 hp, and a petrol hybrid variant with a total output of around 116 hp. Transmission options are likely to include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic, and an e-CVT for hybrids, with choices for both 2WD and 4WD.
Reports also suggest the upcoming Hyundai Creta rival will be slotted for sale under Maruti's Arena dealerships, unlike the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, which is sold by the Maruti Suzuki Nexa dealerships.
