Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), registered domestic sales of 7,585 units in March 2026, marking a 5% growth over the same period last year. Exports for the month stood at 2,451 units, compared to 4,656 units in March 2025.
The growth in domestic sales was primarily driven by consistent demand for Honda's Amaze sedan and Elevate SUV, which remained the company's key contributors. Alongside this, targeted promotions and year-end product offers supported sales during March, a period that traditionally sees heightened buying activity across the auto industry.

Speaking about the sales momentum, Mr. Kunal Behl, Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd., said, "Demand for all Honda models specially Amaze and Elevate continues to be strong with exciting promotions & product offerings which helped us achieve 5% growth during Mar'26. We are excited to enter the new fiscal with plans to expand our lineup, including the launch of our first BEV in the second half. We remain highly optimistic that our strong focus on customer satisfaction will continue to drive growth and sustain positive momentum."

Looking ahead, Honda Cars India has begun pan-India testing of its upcoming electric SUV ahead of its planned global introduction in FY2026-27. The prototype, known globally as the Honda 0 Alpha, was first showcased at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 and will now be assessed across Indian driving and climate conditions.
The upcoming electric SUV will be manufactured at Honda's Tapukara plant in Rajasthan, with the project involving an investment of around Rs 1,200 crore. The model is expected to launch in India and Japan as part of its global rollout in FY2026-27.
With steady domestic performance, strong interest in its key models, and the forthcoming entry into the electric vehicle segment, Honda Cars India appears well-positioned to sustain growth in the evolving Indian passenger car market.
