Ravichandran Ashwin, India's spin wizard with over 500 Test wickets, seems to have a soft spot for the roads too. In a fun Instagram reel, the cricketer is spotted cruising in his first-generation Hyundai Creta along with former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa and commentator Vimal Kumar. In the video, Ashwin cheekily turns down a BMW, in a light-hearted conversation proving luxury labels don't always win the day.

The short clip shared by commentator Vimal Kumar opens with Ashwin gripping the Hyundai Creta's wheel, that familiar boxy first-gen design gleaming under the sun. Based on the looks of it, the Creta is the first-gen model produced till 2020. The one that kicked off Hyundai's SUV craze in India with its bold lines and no-nonsense vibe.

The cricketer is seen smiling ear-to-ear, chatting with Vimal Kumar and Robin in the passenger seat, as the car zips along a smooth urban stretch. The light-hearted conversation was steered by Vimal in the direction where he questioned Ashwin about his car, saying, "You are driving such a small car?" He continued by saying, "It should be a BMW."

Ashwin responded to this by humbly implying that all cars were the same. He continued by saying, "After all, we are sitting in the same car." (English translation)

Launched back in 2015, the first-gen Creta formed the base for the current-gen model, blending peppy engines, decent space, and a price that attracted enough buyers. While the reel is still gaining traction, if it manages to get more views, Creta fans will have their moment.
