The JSW nameplate is all set to enter the automotive business with two new SUVs in the Indian market - Jetour T2 and iCaur V23. These SUVs come from the Chinese automotive house, Chery. The Jetour T2 will sit in the JSW's line-up as the premium offering, while the iCaur V23 will be the more affordable one. Recently, the Chery iCaur V23 electric SUV was tested for safety by the ASEAN NCAP, and it performed well on the test bed.
The Chery iCaur V23 bagged a full 5-star ASEAN NCAP crash test rating. The SUV scored a total of 31.77 points out of 32 for adult occupant protection, while it scored 42.50 points out of 51 for child occupant protection rating. As for the safety assist features, the result remained strong by receiving 18 points out of a total of 21 points. In summation, it achieved a 5-star rating with an overall score of 91.02 points.

The H variant of the SUV was tested, which came equipped with 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Seatbelt Reminder System (SBR) for both frontal occupants, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) City, AEB Inter-Urban, Blind Spot Detection (BSD) for both offside and nearside of the vehicle, Auto High Beam (AHB), Pedestrian Protection (PP), ISOFIX for child seats and AEB for Motorcycle as standard features in all its variants.
In addition, safety tech includes Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), and Lane Keep Assist (LKA) are fitted as standard equipment as well.
The iCaur V23 comes with two variants - single-motor and dual-motor options. It comes equipped with an 81.76 kWH NMC battery pack with a claimed range of 439 km (NEDC), while the peak power and torque output stand at 211 Hp and 292 Nm, respectively. While the V23 can do a 0-100 kmph sprint in just 7.5 seconds, its top speed is limited to 140 kmph.
