BMW Motorrad recently revealed the F 450 GS in all its glory at the EICMA 2025. This is one of the most anticipated middle-weight adventure motorcycles in the global as well as the Indian market. While reports suggested that the motorcycle would be launched at the IBW 2025 in December, the reality differs. Now, the machine is expected to be launched in the country in January 2026.

To be manufactured in India, the motorcycle will be exported to over 100 markets. It will fill the void left because of the discontinuation of the G 310 GS, which was a product of the partnership of BMW Motorrad and TVS Motor Company. To improve its availability, the dealerships have already started taking unofficial bookings for the machine, unofficially. Chances are, this might give early adopters an advantage in terms of delivery.

Upon its launch, the BMW F 450 GS will compete with models like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, KTM 390 Adventure, and Honda NX500. The Himalayan will remain the most budget-friendly option in this category, currently priced at Rs 3.06 lakh. The KTM 390 Adventure starts at Rs 3.95 lakh, while the Honda NX500 is available at a cost of Rs 6.33 lakh.

The F 450 GS will serve as the entry-level model in BMW's adventure motorcycle lineup. Aligned with current market preferences, this new entry-level GS will come with a 420cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. The unit is tuned to produce 48 hp of power at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. This engine is paired with a 6-speed transmission, which is standard for its class.

To make things better, the motorcycle features an 'Easy Ride Clutch' technology, which allows the rider to operate the bike without using the clutch. Similar technology is available on various models from brands such as Honda. It is called an E-Clutch.

For this category, it offers a relatively long list of electronics and features, including a 6.5-inch color TFT display, heated grips, four riding modes, traction control, and switchable dual-channel ABS. There will be four international variants available: Basic, Exclusive, Sport, and Trophy, each with varying levels of features and equipment, and it is yet to be determined how BMW Motorrad India will organize the lineup for our market.
