BMW has revealed the Alpina Vision Concept, previewing the future direction of the Alpina brand under BMW ownership. The luxury grand tourer was recently showcased at the 2026 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este and gives a glimpse of upcoming Alpina models that will sit above standard BMW cars but below Rolls-Royce models in the brand's global lineup. The first production model inspired by the BMW Alpina Vision Concept is expected to arrive in 2027 and will likely be based on the BMW 7 Series.
BMW Alpina Vision Concept: Exterior Design
One of the biggest highlights of the BMW Alpina Vision Concept is its dramatic grand tourer styling. The luxury coupe measures over 5.2 metres in length and gets a sleek 2+2 layout with a long bonnet and low-slung stance.
The BMW Alpina Vision Concept carries Alpina's classic shark-nose front design along with a slim illuminated kidney grille inspired by the iconic BMW 507. The coupe also features slim LED headlamps with crystal detailing and warm white daytime running lights.
Traditional Alpina touches have also been retained. These include subtle Deco stripes, a dedicated Alpina chin spoiler, and signature multi-spoke alloy wheels measuring 22 inches at the front and 23 inches at the rear. At the back, the concept gets slim tail lamps and quad exhaust tips integrated into the bumper.
BMW Alpina Vision Concept: Interior
Inside, the BMW Alpina Vision Concept focuses heavily on luxury and comfort. The cabin gets a dual-tone layout with high-quality materials like full-grain leather, open-pore wood, and machined metal finishes.

The dashboard features BMW's latest Panoramic iDrive setup along with a full-width display positioned near the windscreen. The concept also gets a rhomboid-shaped infotainment touchscreen and a separate passenger display similar to the updated 7 Series.
Another unique touch inside the BMW Alpina Vision Concept is the crystal glasses that automatically rise from the rear centre console using hidden magnetic holders.
BMW Alpina Vision Concept: Powertrain
Unlike many new luxury concepts moving towards full electrification, the BMW Alpina Vision Concept continues with a V8 engine. BMW has confirmed that the concept uses a front-mounted V8 powertrain, although exact technical details have not been revealed yet.

Reports suggest the future production version could use a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine without hybrid assistance. BMW says the engine has been specially tuned to deliver the signature Alpina exhaust sound.
BMW Alpina Vision Concept: Future Direction
The BMW Alpina Vision Concept is important because it previews the future of Alpina after BMW officially took full control of the brand in 2026. Future Alpina models are expected to offer more luxury-focused positioning and compete with premium brands like Maybach.
BMW has also confirmed that the upcoming Alpina range will continue to focus on long-distance comfort with the brand's Comfort Plus suspension setup.
