The Tata Tiago.ev, Tata Motors' entry-level electric hatchback, received a minor facelift in January 2025. Now, fresh spy shots suggest that the carmaker is preparing another round of updates later this year, keeping the model competitive in India's fast-growing EV market. According to a report from CarWale, Tata Motors is currently testing a refreshed version of the Tiago.ev, which will feature subtle design tweaks such as reworked headlamps, restyled bumpers, and revised tail lamps.

From the images, it appears that the upcoming facelift will be relatively modest in scope. The front bumper is expected to be slightly redesigned, possibly incorporating new daytime running light elements within the headlamp housing. At the rear, the production-spec model could sport mildly reworked tail-lights and a tweaked bumper. Tata is also likely to introduce new exterior colour options, while higher trims may benefit from alloy wheels with a fresh design.

One of the clearer changes visible in the spy shots is a new five-spoke wheel design. While the ICE-powered Tiago comes with 15-inch alloy wheels, the Tiago.ev  has so far been limited to 14-inch steel wheels with stylised covers that mimic alloys. The test mule spotted continues with 14-inch stylised steel wheels, though Tata may add a new paint shade to enhance the car's appeal.

On the inside, Tata Motors is unlikely to make sweeping changes, given that the 2025 update already brought a fairly comprehensive refresh. However, the 2026 facelift could introduce a redesigned digital driver's display, offering more relevant information in a cleaner layout. A mildly revised centre console may also be part of the package, though most of the cabin will carry over unchanged.

The equipment list is expected to remain strong. Current features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, steering-mounted controls, iRA connected-car technology, and a cooled glovebox. Higher trims could gain a wireless charging pad, while safety is set to improve significantly. At present, entry-level trims only offer dual front airbags, but the 2026 update is expected to bring six airbags as standard across the range.

Mechanically, Tata Motors is unlikely to alter the Tiago.ev's proven setup. The Medium Range (MR) variant continues with a 19.2kWh battery powering a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor, producing 60hp and 110Nm of torque. The Long Range (LR) variant uses the same motor paired with a larger 24kWh battery, delivering 74hp and 114Nm.

Range figures are expected to remain unchanged, with the MR rated at 223km and the LR at 293km under the MIDC cycle. Overall, the 2026 facelift looks set to be a subtle but meaningful update, keeping the Tiago.ev  fresh while retaining its core strengths.
