- Top GT 63 variant produces 1,169 hp and accelerates 0-100 kmph in 2.1 seconds
- 800V battery supports 600kW fast charging, 10-80% charge in around 11 minutes
Mercedes-Benz has officially taken the wraps off the new 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, and it is easily one of the most powerful electric performance cars revealed so far. The new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe marks a major shift for AMG as the brand moves into the all-electric era while still trying to keep its signature V8 character alive.
Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door EV: Powertrain & Performance
One of the biggest highlights of the 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe is its new axial flux electric motors. AMG developed these compact, lightweight motors with the British company YASA. The GT 63 uses three motors in total, including two at the rear and one at the front, helping deliver strong performance and advanced torque vectoring.

The new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe is based on the brand's new AMG.EA electric platform and comes with a triple-motor setup. In the top-spec GT 63, the car produces a massive 1,169 hp, while the GT 55 variant produces 816 hp. Mercedes-AMG claims the GT 63 can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 2.1 seconds, making it quicker than many hypercars currently on sale.
The battery technology is equally impressive. The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe uses an 800V electrical architecture with support for up to 600kW DC fast charging. Mercedes claims the battery can charge from 10 to 80 percent in around 11 minutes. The GT 55 offers a claimed range of up to 700 km on the WLTP cycle.
Interestingly, Mercedes-AMG has also tried to recreate the emotional feel of a petrol-powered AMG model. The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe gets a simulated V8 soundtrack that has reportedly been created using more than 1,600 sound samples. The car even features virtual gearshift effects through the steering-wheel paddles to make the driving experience feel closer to a traditional AMG sports car.

Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door EV: Design & Exterior
The 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe features a sleek and aggressive design that stays close to AMG's sporty styling philosophy despite being fully electric. The car gets a low-slung four-door coupe silhouette with a long wheelbase, muscular rear haunches, and a wide stance.
At the front, the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe comes with an AMG-specific illuminated grille, sharp LED headlamps with star-shaped daytime running lights, and sculpted bonnet lines. The rear section gets circular turbine-inspired LED tail-lamps, an active rear spoiler, and a large diffuser that helps improve aerodynamics. Mercedes-AMG has also equipped the car with active aero elements and underbody airflow management, helping the electric coupe achieve a drag coefficient of just 0.22 Cd.
Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door EV: Interior And Features
Inside, the 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe gets a driver-focused cabin with a futuristic layout and premium materials throughout. The dashboard is dominated by a large glass panel that combines a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14-inch infotainment touchscreen angled slightly towards the driver. The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe also gets AMG-specific graphics and displays for performance-related information.
The centre console features three physical rotary controls that allow the driver to adjust driving response, traction settings, and agility modes. Mercedes-AMG calls this setup the AMG Race Control Unit. The cabin also gets sporty seats, ambient lighting, and a modern flat-bottom steering wheel with integrated controls.
