The Maruti Suzuki Swift is one of the most popular hatchbacks in India. While the previous-gen models of the Swift bagged 1-star for safety at the ANCAP test, it is the latest-gen model that has scored 3 stars at the Australian test bed. Here are the details of the Made-In-India Swift and its performance at the ANCAP.

The Suzuki Swift was earlier tested by the ANCAP in December 2024, scoring just one star for safety. The hatchback was tested again by the crash test agency after a few revisions to the car, crediting it with a 3-star safety rating. However, Suzuki and the ANCAP have not yet revealed the safety upgrades made to the Swift that resulted in the improved ratings.

Suzuki Swift Safety Ratings: ANCAP

Talking about the details, the Suzuki Swift scored 26.87 points out of 40 in the Adult Occupant Protection. In terms of the Child Occupant Protection, the Suzuki Swift garnered 32.28 points out of 49 points, translating to about 65 percent protection. It scored 48 points out of 63 points in the Vulnerable Road User Protection test, accounting for 76 percent protection. The Australian NCAP also tested the Swift's safety assist features, which scored 10.03 points out of 18 points.

The Australian NCAP's official website confirms that these safety ratings apply to all variants of the Suzuki Swift, except the base-spec GL. Talking about the features, the fourth-generation Suzuki Swift comes equipped with safety features like Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Support Systems (LSS), Speed Assist, and more. However, most of the features seen on the Australian spec model are missing from the India-spec Maruti Suzuki Swift.
