A corporator of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), who was caught on camera repeatedly slapping a senior citizen over an alleged delay in repairing a damaged water pipeline, was arrested today. Nitin Nikam has been charged under Section 341 of the IPC for wrongful restraint that carries a punishment of one month of jail term or a fine of Rs. 500 or both. The corporator, though, was granted bail soon after.
