Government, Opposition spar on price rise issue

While Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee contended that food inflation had come down, the BJP said that the price rise of essential items was hurting the common man, with the government doing little to nothing about it. Senior leaders from the Left also wondered why when prices of food items seemed to be going up, there was little to no rise in the price of whiskey.
