A wild tusker, which was chained for the last 13 days after it killed two people in a village near Puri, has been released. On Monday, the elephant was released in its original habitat, the Chandka forest near Bhubaneswar. The sub-adult elephant has had to pay a rather heavy price for straying into human territory and hopefully this is the end of the ordeal for the animal.
