Tata’s rights issue: Unusual underwriting?

The ongoing downslide in the Indian stock markets has resulted in lukewarm response to the rights issue of Tata Motors. In these turbulent markets many such issues are getting devolved and investment bankers are forced to bail them out by paying the money since they have been the underwriters.
