After months of flip-flop, the government on Thursday decided to pass on the burden of rising crude prices to the consumers and announced a price hike in petrol by Rs 2 per litre and diesel by Re 1 litre. The government has also decided to give more relief to oil companies by increasing the total quantum of oil bonds. But the decision did not go down well with the Left parties and they have demanded a rollback.
