Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, reportedly called a journalist "sugar" and mentioned their "movie snuggles" in flirty Facebook messages exchanged over a decade ago. The texts resurfaced during a court hearing on Tuesday when the court took up Harry's lawsuit against Associated Newspapers, the publisher of the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday.

In the chats, Harry reportedly called Daily Mail journalist Charlotte Griffiths "sugar" and ended his messages with kisses.

Griffiths, in return, jokingly called him "Mr Mischief" and mentioned a possible "weekend of naughtiness," according to Page Six.

In one message, dated December 4, 2011, Harry introduced himself jokingly, writing, "It's H, in case you were confused by name and picture!!! X". Griffiths responded, "What a fun weekend of naughtiness – can't we all get up to no good in the countryside every weekend, damn it?? Smooches."

"Without doubt the best of those weekends I've been to," replied Harry.

In the same exchange, he spoke about attending formal dinners, describing how he had to make polite conversation with strangers while asking for donations for charity. In a later message dated January 22, 2012, Griffiths called him "H bomb" and said he had been missed at a social gathering.

"I wish I was there sugar but unfortunately stuck in Cornwall doing Army stuff. Otherwise I would have been there playing and then drinking u under the table, obvi!!" his text read.

Harry, in court, claimed that he only met journalist Charlotte Griffiths once and stopped speaking to her after finding out she was a reporter.

Griffiths, in her witness statement, wrote, "We were all the same age and going to the same places in London at night, so knew each other socially for a time."

Harry has accused Associated Newspapers Limited of using illegal methods such as phone hacking and wiretapping to gather information about him between 1993 and 2011.

He said that the kind of personal details published by the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday could not have been gathered legally.

The publisher has denied wrongdoing and suggested that their information may have come from people close to Harry.

A verdict is expected at a later date.
