Iran continues to reel from the joint US, Israeli attacks. Latest satellite imagery, released yesterday, appears to show damaged buildings at Konarak naval base in southern Iran along the Gulf of Oman.
No official assessment of losses or operational impact has been publicly released.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's supreme leader, was killed Saturday after decades of trading threats and, more recently, missiles with Israel and the US. Satellite images showed the secure compound in downtown Tehran where his residence and offices had been, reduced to a gray mass. Four members of his family, including his daughter and a grandchild, were also killed.
US president Donald Trump urged Iranians to rise up against their government and said the war could last "four weeks".
Iran continued a retaliatory missile and drone campaign in the Gulf, adding to fears the conflict could spread as Tel Aviv launched attacks on Lebanon after Tehran-backed militant group Hezbollah fired rockets at Israel in retaliation for the killing of Khamenei.
Iran's army said Monday it targeted US Ali Al Salem air base in Kuwait as well as vessels in the Indian ocean.
"Missile units of the army's ground and naval forces operating from various locations targeted the US Ali Al Salem air base in Kuwait as well as enemy vessels in the northern Indian Ocean over the past hours," the army said in a statement.
