Beijing:
After being on the run for seven years, a Chinese man surrendered for raping a 13-year-old girl as he could not stand the "torture in his soul", a media report said.
Li Guohua had developed a relationship with his landlord's daughter around seven years back. He was then 19 and the girl 13.
Police was informed after they were found together. Li fled.
In China, anyone having sex with a girl younger than 14 is deemed to have committed rape.
Shanghai Daily reported that while he was on the run, Li found a girlfriend, named Wang, who later gave birth to their daughter.
Li told Wang about his past and Wang's parents told their daughter to leave him.
Wang left Li and their daughter.
Li then worried over how his daughter would view him when she comes to know of his past.
After Li's mother asked him to face his past, he surrendered to police in Shanghai.
