Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi has criticised the BJP-led Assam government for its handling of the Zubeen Garg death investigation. Speaking to NDTV, Gogoi said the people of Assam are dissatisfied with the slow pace and lack of transparency in the probe. He condemned the arrests of fans, YouTubers, and music influencers under harsh laws like the NSA for demanding justice. Gogoi said that only after public outrage and arrests of Zubeen's supporters were two accused finally taken into custody — something that should have happened earlier. He accused the BJP of politicising the issue and diverting attention with irrelevant comments about Nepal and Gen Z. Gogoi urged the government to ensure a fast, fair, and transparent investigation to help Assam begin the healing process.
