Chinese President Xi Jinping has arrived in Washington for a three-day US visit and received a rare planeside welcome from President Donald Trump at Joint Base Andrews. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump greeted Xi and his wife Peng Liyuan as an honor guard, red carpet and military flyover marked the start of the high-stakes visit.
