Even though Congress and a few other parties skipped the GST launch, senior party leader Anand Sharma said on Friday that it was a constructive cooperation between the government and the opposition, particularly the Congress which ensured the passage of the constitution amendment bill. GST is a major step but it will take time before it's distilled into an acceptable GST as per the global benchmarks.
