Around 800 acres of land in Mumbai's Aarey has been declared a reserve forest and the proposed metro car shed will be shifted to Kanjurmag, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has announced. Speaking to NDTV, Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said, "Across the country, we need to understand development does not suffer if you think of the environment. Development can co-exist with the environment." BJP MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar called it a "childish, anti-development decision taken by state government."
