"Why The Debate Over National Song If Not Bengal Polls?" Priyanka Gandhi Vadra On Vande Mataram
The debate on the national song on its 150th anniversary saw a spirited defence of Vande Mataram from Congress's Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who accused the government of highlighting the issue in view of the coming assembly election in Bengal. The government, she said in the Lok Sabha today, "wanted debate on Vande Mataram because Bengal polls coming soon".
