West Bengal News | Teacher Assaulted For Protesting Public Drinking
An arts teacher in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas was brutally assaulted after he stopped a group of youngsters from drinking liquor in a residential neighbourhood. The incident, caught on CCTV, shows Nirupam Pal being repeatedly punched and slapped by the group after he objected to public drinking in Belgharia. The attackers also threatened to kill him. Bystanders rushed to his aid, and Mr Pal was hospitalised. Police have arrested five accused, and further investigations are underway.
