US Iran War | US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth Says 'Hormuz Blockade Will Expand'

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz will expand as a second U.S. aircraft carrier arrives in the Gulf. He said the U.S. Navy is prepared to act against any Iranian vessels attempting to lay mines or disrupt commercial shipping in the region. Hegseth said President Donald Trump has authorized the U.S. Navy to destroy Iranian fast boats involved in mine deployment, following Trump’s order to “shoot and kill” small boats laying mines. He added that the U.S. remains confident it can clear any mines identified in the strait.
