April's job report in the US lived up to muted expectations, with the economy creating a meager 115,000 jobs during the month as the unemployment rate fell to 8.1 per cent. In corporate news, Facebook aims to raise about $10.6 billion in Silicon Valley's largest IPO, dwarfing the coming-out parties of tech companies like Google and granting the world's largest social network a market value close to that of Amazon.com.
