Political temperatures are rising in Tamil Nadu amid a fresh war of words between the Indian National Congress and the ruling DMK. The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has added fuel to alliance speculation after its general secretary backed the Congress’s pitch for power sharing, saying a share in governance, not just seat-sharing, would shape the outcome of the upcoming elections. TVK also hit out at the DMK, accusing it of branding critics as RSS-linked and of using alliance partners only to later sideline them. The remarks come after Congress MP Manickam Tagore publicly called for power sharing within alliances, signalling possible realignments ahead of the polls.
