20 villages in Chhattisgarh have come together against government's plans to conduct fresh auctions of 16 coal blocks which can pose a serious challenge to mining in the region. The tribals, afraid of losing their lands, are now preparing for a legal battle. The villages protesting the government's decision in the district held a Gram Sabha and have successfully passed a resolution against mining in the areas, say the locals.
