Tiktok Finalises Deal To Keep The App Running In The US After Years Of Uncertainty

TikTok says it has finalised a deal to keep the app running in the United States after years of uncertainty. The agreement sets up a new TikTok US joint venture backed by investors including Oracle, Silver Lake and Abu Dhabi-based MGX. The deal was needed because a US law required TikTok to find a new owner or face a ban, targeting concerns that China's ByteDance could access user data or influence what Americans see through TikTok's algorithm. TikTok briefly went dark around the deadline, before President Donald Trump signed orders to keep it running while talks continued.
