Swiss panel clears new India tax treaty

India will soon be able to make official requests to Switzerland for more information on suspected cases of black money in Swiss banks. A protocol was signed in August last year to amend the already existing Indo-Swiss double taxation treaty. A Swiss parliamentary committee gave its approval this week, in a first step towards the agreement coming into force.
