Stock Market News | Sensex Today: Sensex Drops 1,600 Points, Nifty Down 400 As Oil Prices Hit $102

Indian equity benchmarks opened in negative on Monday morning after Brent crude oil jumped to $101.86. This comes after US-Iran peace talks failed and the US said that it is planning to enforce a naval blockade around Iranian ports. Meanwhile, Israel also plans to resume strikes on Iran. At the open, the BSE Sensex opened at 76,134.32 levels, down by 1415.93 points or 1.83 per cent. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty50 was at 23,571.15 levels, down by 479.45 point or 1.99 per cent.
