This week the parliament passed the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Amendment Bill 2016 despite opposition by many across party lines as well as activists. On the show, Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya hails the bill as landmark and historic. But many, including Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyrathi and the UNICEF have raised concerns over the ability of the new anti child labour bill to curb child labour. Will this bill prove to be a gamechanger or regressive? BJP MP Tarun Vijay, Congress leader Sharmistha Mukherjee, Biju Janata Dal MP Kalikesh Deo and Policy and Advocacy Head of Tata Trusts Shireen Vakil Miller share their thoughts.
