'Agnipath' Showdown: Has Government Rushed In The 'Reform'?
Amid the continuing protests over Agnipath scheme, the government on Monday put the plan in motion with official notification. It insists that the Agniveers, as they'll be called, will get priority in being hired in police forces, in Defence PSUs and a number of corporate leaders have issued statements today that they will be willing to help after the 4-year period is over. Will this be enough to quell the protests? But importantly, like the farm laws, has this reform too been pushed without enough discussion with stakeholders?
