Cigarettes Cause Cancer: Not in India?

The statement of BJP MP Dilip Gandhi who says no Indian study has proved a relationship between cancer and smoking, has received a huge backlash on social media. Mr Gandhi is the head of a Parliamentary Committee based on whose report the Health Ministry decided to not increase the size pictorial warnings on cigarette packs which has meant that India has missed the deadline for a major initiative to discourage smoking. Health Minister to doctors to leaders from across political parties have spoken out against this statement.
