In the morning, the government's season of embarrassments got hotter with a leaked report that said 10.7 lakh crores had been wasted because coalfields had not been auctioned from 2004-09. By the evening, the government had recovered, mainly because the author of the draft report, the government's auditor, said it was nowhere near final and its content was, therefore, misleading.
