COVID-19 Cases Surge In People Under 40, Self-Medication Makes It Worse

In Mumbai, there has been a rise in young people, under 40, getting admitted straight to the ICU for COVID-19. Around 30 per cent of the COVID-19 cases in the ICU in Mumbai hospitals are of young people, according to top doctors. The last month has seen a rise of 34 per cent in such cases. Hospitals say that young people with COVID-19 have been self-medicating despite having symptoms and are getting admitted to the ICU with complications.
