Shinzo Abe Dies After Being Shot During Mid-Speech
Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe died today after being shot twice at a campaign event in the Nara region, the hospital treating him confirmed. Doctors who attended to him in the hospital say "bullet penetrated the heart". Shinzo Abe was delivering a speech at an event ahead of Sunday's upper house elections when gunshots were heard, NHK and the Kyodo news agency said.
