There have been detailed announcements on how relief will be provided to those affected by the violence in large parts of northeast Delhi. But a fact-finding team of civil rights activists and NDTV's own reporters have found the ground reality to be something else entirely. The Delhi government has set up nine relief camps so far but some of them have no takers at all, because they are at some distance from the affected neighbourhoods - which has forced families who abandoned their homes because of the violence to take refuge with their relatives or make other arrangements. In the worst-hit areas, including Bhajanpura, Chaman Park and Shiv Vihar, there are no relief camps at all. Activists say this is a "shocking abdication of responsibility" by the Centre and State government.
